Riding style, route profile, surface, and even temperature – all these factors influence battery range. However, those who ride economically and pay attention to a few things should achieve ranges of 70 to 100 km with a 500-watt-hour battery and medium assistance – enough for most tours and day trips.

TIP 1: LOW ROLLING RESISTANCE THANKS TO OPTIMAL TIRE PRESSURE

Make sure your tires have the correct air pressure. This reduces rolling resistance and increases energy efficiency.

TIP 2: SAVE ENERGY WHILE DRIVING

Especially on flat terrain and gentle sections, full assistance is often not needed. Here, you can ride quickly at a lower power setting – and save a significant amount of energy at the same time.

TIP 3: SHIFT SMARTLY

Maintaining the correct cadence also increases the motor's efficiency. The optimal range is between 75 and 90 revolutions per minute. Clever shifting allows you to adjust the cadence and conserve battery power.

TIP 4: DRIVE WITH FORECAST

Starting up consumes a lot of energy and reduces the range. Therefore, it's important to stop. & Avoid using the "Go" function if possible. When starting off, the gear and assistance level should be as low as possible. This prevents unnecessary strain on the battery.

TIP 5: JUST INTERLOAD

Most batteries can be recharged to about 50 percent in two hours. Therefore, it's worthwhile having a charger available on long trips or at the office. This way, you can not only recharge your own energy during your lunch break, but also partially or completely recharge modern lithium-ion batteries.
