EFFICIENT E-BIKING: Five Tips For Maximum Range

Driving style, route profile, surface and even the temperature - all these factors have an influence on the battery range. But if you drive economically and pay attention to a few things, you should be able to achieve a range of 70 to 100 km with a 500 watt hour battery and medium support - enough for most tours and daily stages.

TIP 1: LOW ROLLING RESISTANCE THANKS TO OPTIMUM TIRE PRESSURE

Make sure the tires have the correct air pressure. This reduces rolling resistance and increases energy efficiency.

TIP 2: SAVE ENERGY WHILE DRIVING

Full support is often not required, especially on level ground and in flat passages. Here you can also drive quickly at a lower level - and save a lot of energy at the same time.

TIP 3: SHIFTING CLEVER

With the right pedaling frequency, the efficiency of the motor also increases. The optimal range is between 75 and 90 revolutions per minute. The cadence can be adjusted by clever shifting and the battery is spared.

TIP 4: DRIVING FORWARD

Starting off in particular consumes a lot of energy and reduces the range. Therefore stop & go should be avoided if possible. When setting off, the gear and support level should be as low as possible. In this way, the battery is not used unnecessarily.

TIP 5: SIMPLY LOAD BETWEEN TIMES

Most batteries can be recharged to about 50 percent in two hours. It is therefore worth having the charger available on long tours or in the office. In this way, you can not only "recharge" your own energy during the lunch break. Intermediate or partial charging does not damage modern lithium-ion batteries.
