IN 3 STEPS TO THE OPTIMAL SITTING POSITION

More driving pleasure and greater reach We'll give you tips on how to find the optimal riding position and ride your e-bike efficiently. Get the most out of your new e-bike and experience the pure joy of riding.

CORRECT SITTING ON AN E-BIKE

The basis for an optimal seating position is always a E-bike in the right size. ADO and Himo E-Bike make it as easy as possible with e-bikes in frame sizes XS to XXXL. Expert advice from ADO/Himo will provide precise information about the correct frame size. Himo specialist dealer including an extensive test drive.

3 STEPS TO THE OPTIMAL SITTING POSITION

The correct seating position not only increases the fun factor when e-biking, but also improves power transmission and enables more efficient riding.

STEP 1: ADJUSTING THE SADDLE

To determine the correct saddle height, place your leg on the pedal positioned vertically at the 6 o'clock position with your knee almost fully extended. Let your other leg hang down. Have someone hold the e-bike steady while you do this. If your pelvis tilts to the side or you slide around on the saddle while riding, the saddle is usually set too high. If you lose contact with the saddle or are lifted out of it while riding, then the saddle height is too low.

To prevent discomfort and ensure a truly ergonomic riding position, the saddle position should also be checked and adjusted if necessary. With the pedals in a horizontal position (3 o'clock position), the point directly below the kneecap should be directly above the pedal axle. This can be precisely determined using a plumb line made of string and a weight. If this is not the case, the saddle can be gently moved forward and backward as needed.

STEP 2: ADJUST HANDLEBAR POSITION

Riders who prefer a sporty riding position usually choose a lower handlebar position. However, on long tours, if you experience hand or neck pain, or simply find riding uncomfortable, a more comfortable handlebar position is recommended. This involves raising the handlebars slightly, resulting in a more upright and relaxed riding position. Often, this also improves both control and riding safety.

STEP 3: MORE ERGONOMICS FOR MAXIMUM COMFORT

The first two steps help you find a suitable riding position relatively quickly. However, riding an e-bike is always very individual and depends on many factors. You can always experiment a bit with the saddle and handlebar positions to find the truly optimal riding position. For persistent discomfort, ergonomic components such as grips, handlebars, and saddle can be very helpful. For the best possible riding experience and unadulterated enjoyment, many factors are important. ADO Himo e-bikes are already equipped with the appropriate components.

We hope our tips are helpful and wish you lots of fun with your new e-bike!
